There are many different beliefs throughout the world. As a result, there are also many different good luck symbols that exist. The most popular ones include the four leaf clover (or shamrock), the lucky rabbit's foot, and the horseshoe. Others include the wishbone and crossed fingers.

Some items considered to be good luck are rabbits feet, four leaf clovers, horse shoes (hung over a door), the number 7, leprechauns, rainbows, pots of gold, seeing a shooting star, throwing a penny in a wishing well, stray eyelashes. Some fish are considered lucky. Dreamcatchers can be considered lucky as well.

The most widely recognized good luck symbol today is a four-leaf "lucky" clover. Horseshoes and the number seven are also considered lucky, and so is an Irish pot of gold.
