Decide far in advance which elements of the wedding are important to you, and plan to spend accordingly. For instance, consider foregoing a cake or a sit-down meal if you feel these are not your priorities. Also, if you start early, you can negotiate good deals with suppliers.

Try to do your own flowers, but use fresh ones. Pick a low-cost venue that is still beautiful, like a park. Catch your dress on sale. Go ahead and spend for the cake.

One tip would be to definitely shop around. Make sure you are getting the best deal for your money before just buying the first thing you see. Another tip is to do as many projects yourself that would not cost your more than to just purchase the item already made.

Well you can not have a big wedding, no reception just a cocktail hour, DIY decoration and invites that are nice and not cheap looking.

Make things have more then one use, like the center pieces could double as the wedding favors or the table seatings as the cake.
