A simple face painting could be a Butterfly, or tiger stripes. Other ideas are balloons, stars, and rainbows. For an easy full face you could do a clown face.

Always break down drawings into simpler shapes. Things that are made up of simple shapes are easier to draw or paint. The easiest are balloons and butterflys, rainbows, clouds and raindrops It's also easy to paint the whole face and turn the kid's face into something like a cat or a dog.
