I prefer a vinyl flooring that looks like wood or tile. Wood scratches and it cold. Tile chips and it cold. Vinyl can be cleaned and kept up easily.

You can do a tile floor, which in my opinion is the best because it does not matter if it gets wet. YOu can do a hardwood floor or a a wood laminate.

For a unique and beautiful floor that you can enjoy I would suggest tile. This allows for expression and ease of clean plus durability.

I think some good ideas are rolls of flooring that you can roll out and cut. You can also buy the 12 x 12 tiles and install them yourself, just make sure to measure so you will get the right amount. Another idea is in and outdoor carpet, it can be cleaned easily.

Choose a surface that is easy to keep clean and doesn't show dirt too easily. Avoid porous surfaces as they will absorb spills, become stained and need replacing quickly.

Vinyl sheeting or peel and stick tiles is an inexpensive way to redo floors. Wood is warm and inviting. Ceramic tiles come in a variety of colors and styles, but can be cold and hard on dropped dishes. Laminate, looks like wood, is another option, or you could go with a "green" option, linoleum, bamboo, or cork.

The traditional style is linoleum, but you could try carpeting, or vinyl tiles that peal and stick, or baked tile that is a lot more durable.
