1. Have children use Microsoft Paint to spell out words and draw images. This improves mouse usage, introduces graphic art, and can be integrated with language lessons. 2. Have children take pictures and download them to a shared computer. This teaches the software usage skills of digital cameras and camera software.

Powerpoint immediately comes to mind-it comes with drawing tools and you can work in color. You can write a story and have the kids illustrate it-either with the computer tools or print them out and have them color with good old fashioned crayons, markets or watercolor or tempura paints.

One way to get kids into technology in art would be to have them take photos. You could upload them and let them play around with them in paint or photoshop.
