It all depends how old the child is. Sports is a good start for both. Combine pictures with stickers. Small children you could use their hand prints. There favorite colors for the pages with your favorite photos. Their favorite toys. There are many stickers and scrapbooking items on the market.

Incorporate some of the child's interests. Maybe they like to participate in sports. You can place stickers or cutouts of the child's sport on the page. You can also make a child's page with their favorite colors or match colors that are in the photo. Use ribbons, flowers and glitter for girls or buttons, shapes and die cuts for boys.

Start with one great picture. Find a theme or an object in that picture and build around it. Keep one theme per page. And keep one color scheme a page.

If you have a boy try things such as robots, airplanes or bugs. If you have a girl try things like princess, dance, polka dots or tinkerbell.
