Air-plants (Spider Plants). There's a type of ivy that I see in cubicles everywhere. Cast Iron or Mother-In-Law plants. African violets if you have a window with the right light.

English Ivy is always a good option. Not only is it hard to kill and fast-growing, but it's one of the best plants at removing indoor air pollution. Another good option is a fern, though you will have to be careful to water it regularly. A plant that requires little maintenance is bamboo.

The most robust house plants I've ever had were Sansevieria of various species. The tall skinny kind is commonly known as mother-in-law's tongue or snake plant. There's also a short rosette-forming kind. It needs very little water. It likes bright light but will survive with less.
