Any exercise that works the hamstring muscles is good for baseball players. Since hamstring injuries are one of the most seveere problems base ball players have in the lower body. One good routine is to face a wall and put one hand on the wall and then reach back and slowly pull the leg up with the other hand.

The answer depends somewhat on what position you play: you might have different goals if you are a pitcher, catcher or other position player. Generally speaking you want to build strength and flexibility, so lunges (with and without holding weights) and squats are good options. You should also work in wind sprints to build endurance.

Good lower body workouts for baseball players, especially pitchers, is squats and lunges. Free-weight squats create more muscle for your lower body, but a machine will work just fine. Lunges will create strength through your entire hamstring and groin. Running will also increase the stamina and strength of your entire body and get rid of the lactic acid.

The best lower body work outs for a baseball player are sprints, lunges, and balancing. Sprints are good, pick a point about 20 feet away and run back and forth. Lunges are when you move forward and bend your knees to lower your body. Balancing is also very important, try standing on one leg while you do arm curls.
