You will want to talk to an expert about this but leg extensions are really good. Anything that allows you to build the endurance of the knee without putting too much pressure on it is good. Doing squats on your toes is helpful for protecting your knees as well. Yoga and pilates are good for this also.

You could do band work, leg extentions, and step ups. If you incorperate these exercises into your daily regime you will strengthen your knee.

I would recommend you do squats and deadlifts. Remember to have your hip crease go below your knee when you squat or you will not work your knee properly.

Knee strengthening exercises are related to certain leg strengthening exercises. Exercises include: barbell squats, dumbbell lunges, leg press, and leg extensions.

Squats are great for knee strengthening but make sure you take them slowly until you are in good shape. Start with slight dips or a long stride where you hold position in a slight dip for 2 seconds and then rise. As you get stronger you can add weight or dip lower.

Whenever undertaking an exercise plan, be sure to go slowly at first and consult your doctor if you have doubts. Deep knee bends, squats, and knee extensions are good.
