What does your mom enjoy? Give her something you know she likes -- for her garden, her hobby, or even for a night out. Be sure to include a card that explains why you really appreciate her -- mom's keep notes like that forever.

How old is your mom and how close are you two? I really like a website: Etsy com, for unique gifts. If not take her out to dinner. I like to create cute gift baskets based on someone's likes.

If your mom is like my mom, she especially likes a day of your company. Take her shopping, out to eat, and then to a good movie. Or just stay home with her and cook her special meal, with wine (if she likes it) and a very special dessert. After that, play cards or just sit and reminisce.
