I'd recommend How to Talk So Teens Will Listen and Listen So Teens Will Talk. While the book is about raising teens in general, there are many sections that specifically have to do with teenage girls. The advice this book provides is easy to implement and very effective.

Check out "Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls" by Mary Pipher and "Girls Will Be Girls" by Joann Deak. I loved "Get Out of My Life, but First Could You Drive Me & Cheryl to the Mall: A Parent's Guide to the New Teenager" by Anthony Wolf.

Raising Ophelia is a book I often see in the library. Also, the "for Dummies" "Complete Idiot's" and "Everything Guide to" series typically have books on the topic of raising children of all ages. I suggest you visit your local library and see if your librarian can help you find the kind of books you are looking for.

I would highly recommend "Pollyanna" by Eleanor H.Porter, Mary Poppins by Pamela Travers, Secret Garden, To Kill a Mockingbird. Twilight saga is quite popular now, but I do not approve of the trend, and stand for traditional values. Try to stick to classics and let go of vampires. "Sophie's world" is a great book, but depends on the girl's maturity.
