Revise your diet first and foremost, be sure you're getting enough protein. Focus on particular muscle groups to work your first training session, and then alternate those muscle groups to avoid fatigue. Also check with a personal trainer and get their opinion on how to build muscle mass and to be sure you're doing it correctly.

Isometric exercises work on your static strength. You don't even need to use weights playing your muscles off of each other can help you to make sure that your muscles stay strong.

You can google a lot of positions that are used for static strength training. Many of the positions are similar to yoga positions. I use my Wii Fit to help me know that I am doing them correctly. Popular positions include the plank, sitting V's, and pretending as though you are sitting in a chair with nothing actually supporting you.

Static strength training, also known as Isometric Exercise training. Is used as an alternative to weight training. One type of static strength training is using rubber bands that are made for this type of training.

Yoga, practiced for thousands of years, is a series of static training poses, and the success of the pose is always dependent on maintaining a deep and steady breathing regimen. Good breathing encourages muscle oxygenation and protects the fascial sheath from lactic acid buildup or excessive knotting.
