For this holiday, most people prefer stereotypical "American" foodstuffs. You can't go wrong with hot dogs, hamburgers, fried chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, corn on the cob, and baked beans. For deserts, apple pie, fruit salad, and ice cream are great. Round out the meal with cold lemonade, soda and beer.

A good menu for hosting a 4th of July party includes the best of All American BBQ! Ribs, burgers, corn on the cob and great potato salad! Don't forget dessert which should include a selection of classic pie flavors and ice cream.

Hot dogs, Brats, BBQ ribs, Chips, mustard based potato salads, deviled eggs, make great party food. Think finger foods or very low use utensil foods

Since it's usually hot outside for the 4th of July, I'd stick to mostly chilled items. Most guests will like your typical fruit or veggie trays. You can buy these pre-made at most grocery stores, or do it yourself. Another popular idea is BBQ Lil' Smokies. I don't know anyone who doesn't love these!

Barbecue ribs. Great because you can cook them on the grill or in the oven. On the the side make baked beans, corn and potato salad. For dessert watermelon.
