What are some causes of numbness on top of my foot?

Causes would inlcude: circulation problems (do you often have cold feet/toes? any discoloration of your feet? ), Or maybe there was an injury to your foot/bruising.

Numbness coming from the shin area down to the top of the foot normally indicates some sort of back injury.

It could be due to the way you are sitting, a pinched nerve somewhere or many other reasons. I would contact your doctor to follow up on this.

This is most common in runners or very active people. Most likely the cause is nerves having too much pressure on them, or commonly called compressed nerves.
