If you know the approximate size of the kid, you could buy clothes. Otherwise you can only buy toys. Kids that age love soft animals or something that plays music /makes noises and sounds. Try to get something, what the parents will like, the baby wont remember it anyway.

Any toys made by Leap Frog are fun and educational. No toys with small parts or too complicated should be fine.
