Post-relational databases use an XML type of nesting making it exceptonaly dependable with more complex applications. Information is nested in the data base so that data retrieval requires less computation, allows for fewer reads in retrieval and allows the programmer to see primary relationships by viewing the data directly.

A post-relational database is a database that can map objects directly using a query language, e. g. SQL, as well as having the same capabilities found in relational databases.
