There is a certain point at which a creditor can no longer sue for unpaid debts, and I'd like to know what the time limit is for each state.

Each state has different laws governing this statute of limitations on unpaid debts. For specific information about each state's specific laws, visit each particular state's website for specific information about debtors' rights and responsibilities. Attorneys in each state can also be of assistance in finding this information on time-barred accounts.

Each state has their own set of limitations. Be careful not to communicate with the collection agency as it may refresh a statute of limitations and therefore re-newing the debt.

Each state has its own rules regarding time barred accounts. Attorney general offices within each state are a good place to start to find out what your state's rules are regarding time barred accounts. Ranges of three to ten years are often provided for by laws in various states.
