What advice can you give me for preparing my child for a singing competition?

My daughter will be competing for the first time in a state run singing competition.

Mark the the measures in the music with an intro so your child's accompanist knows where to start and finish. Have your child practice in front of a group of peers allowing the child to be very nervous. Rest voice and do not drink milk products the day of the audition.

Since I'm sure you've heard the stand up straight, sing from the diaphragm, etc I'll give you an odd one. Make her read something she finds amusing while backstage waiting to go on. I'm serious. Laughing relaxes people in stressful situations. Also no soda or chocolate for 24 hours before the competition because either of those tightens the throat.

She needs to be able to comfortably sing in front of strangers and have them tell her at she is good, so find a way that she can sing publicly.
