What advice can you give me for lighting a sloped ceiling?

What I use is inset mini leds to create an ambiant edge glow -- low voltage bulbs like this can pack a lot of effect. Also, shining a light into a mirror and reflecting up can create a wonderful "pool water" ripple effect with the light bouncing off of the ceiling.

Can lighting works well in sloped ceilings, especially adjustable cans as you can point the light to where it's needed. A ceiling fan with lights on the flat part of the ceiling, dropped to accent the ceiling's slope can ensure that other areas of the room are not in shadow.

You can use hanging lanterns in different shapes, sizes and colors to light a sloped ceiling. They are lightweight and would not be dangerous if they were placed on an angle. Or you can use flush-mount ceiling light fixtures, placed in the center of the slope. Make sure to get energy-saving light bulbs.

You could try recessed lighting throughout the entire room. Just place whatever size light you choose in different areas of the ceiling so that you get light everywhere you need it.
