Yes, children should be included at a reception. A wedding is a huge and fun family event and I think family includes children.

This depends on how formal your reception is. A very formal catered affair with wait staff serving fancy food probably isn't going to appeal to most children. However a less formal reception with a buffet could add to extra fun when the kids hit the dance floor.

Everyone has their own opinion on this. I personally invited children. I find that not inviting them causes problems for some of the guests. They would have to find a babysitter and if the wedding is out of town what are they suppose to do with their children.

It depends on the individual who is having the wedding. If they are comfortable with kids being at the reception then it should be fine!

Are the kids going to the ceremony. It is usually a family get together. It is customary to have kids at the reception. It would mean that the parents have to find a babysitter after the ceremony and it can dampen the spirits of the parents who would be going.
