If your wife picked out the first ring then she should definately have a say in the second. If she had no say in the first then it would still be nice to accept suggestions from her since she will be the one wearing it everyday.
Well, if it had to get cut off her finger, then maybe you aren't the best shopper. Definetly let her come with you, she probably knows her own ring size.
