For very small children I would recommend buying a smaller mouse. The adult size mouse can be heavy and hard for them to operate. Pre-teen and teenagers do fine with the adult size but children at the first to third grade level may need the smaller laptop size mouse you can find in department stores.

Adult size is fine for your kids to use. Smaller computer mouse is usually for laptops and computer users who are always on the go.
