Should I cover my above-ground pool for winter?

While it is suggested to cover your above ground pool for the winter, it's not completely necessary. I will tell you - you'll save yourself quite a bit of time and energy when you go to do the initial cleaning for summer swimming if you cover it.

Yes, you should definitely cover your pool for winter. That way, debris, like dead leaves, little bugs, etc, won't fall in. Also keeps rain and snow out.

You should do more than just cover it. Odds are you are in a freeze-zone, so you should actually drain your above-ground pool in the winter. After you have drained it, you should then also cover it. This will save you time when having to get it ready for the next summer, as no debris and rain water will exist.
