Should I be concerned that my guinea pigs have no top teeth?

My guinea pigs have lost their top teeth, will this cause them health problems?

Guinea pigs with no top teeth are unable to bite into their food. Their teeth is needed indeed, therefor they sould have been cared for previously, providing lots of hay and water.

You should definitely be concerned if your guinea pigs have no top teeth. They are rodents and therefore their teeth continue to grow their entire lives. With no top teeth your guinea pigs will not be able to wear down their bottom teeth or even be able to eat correctly.

Yes. Get them to an exotics vet ASAP for an exam. You will also have to hand feed a pellet/veg mash to help them survive. Keep an eye on the bottom teeth in case they grow too much while the top ones are coming back. This is very serious.

This is not terribly uncommon, as all rodents continually grow teeth. Meaning if you give it time, your guinea pig's teeth should grow back in. It could just be a fluke, but if it happens again it's probably best to take your guinea pig to a vet to make sure there's no underlying problem.
