Should an English bulldog have a harness attached to his leash?

I've only seen English bulldogs wearing harnesses, and never only a leash. Is a harness a necessity?

An English bulldog should wear a harness attached to a leash when being walked. A collar can be left on the dog when at home, but it is not the best choice when walking the dog. This is because a collar pulls the dog from the neck, and English bulldogs have enough breathing problems with their breed as it is.

Actually every dog should wear a harness when on a walk. The reason for this is because a lot of dogs pull and if they pull to hard they could injure their trachea.

Harnesses are good for bulldogs because they prevent the dog from pulling on the collar. Pulling on the collar often causes them to choke and since bulldogs have breathing problems already, it's good to avoid the choking.

A harness while nice to have, as it makes the dogs easier to handle. Is not a necessity. Just a rope i suppose would do. The dog make feel a little trashy, but after all a dog will eat its own throw up wont it. I guess you would say its a matter of preference.
