Two people decide to join the Army at the same time. They will usually choose the same job so they will go through training and possibly first duty station together.

Buddy enlistment program is when you and a friend want to go to Basic Training together. You enlist at the same recruiting office on the buddy program and you are guaranteed to go to Basic Training at the same time, in the same platoon. You may also get a meritorious rank if you got your buddy to enlist.

The U.S. Army has a program that allows friends to enlist together and go through BMT together. A recruiter can give you details.

The "buddy enlistment" option allowed two non-prior service applicants from the same area who join the Army at the same time to stay together through basic training, AIT and to be assigned to the same duty station for at least 12 months. Check with a recruiter. I don't think the "buddy enlistment" program is offered any longer.
