My dog keeps licking his anus. Why?

Your dog may have constipation and be trying to stimulate excretion. There may be worms, or an infection. However, your dog may just like licking his butt. Look for redness, check his stools for mucous, blood, white specks, or other abnormal conditions.

Probably because he can. Just kidding... actually, this behavior is an indication that he has some sort of irritation or issue in that region. As nasty as it is, I would suggest using wipes to clean the area. If there isn't anything there, see a vet as there may be internally.
