You should take your dog to the vet. Especially if your dog stops eating, that means that your dog either got into some form of poison or is having kidney troubles. And if your dog has kidney troubles, that can be fatal. Especially since the surgery to fix that kind of problem is really expensive.

My dog was drinking heavily so i took him to the vet. He ended up being diabetic so I would definently take your dog to the vet. Usually frequent urination is another symptom that goes along with being diabetic.

It is hard to know when a dog is drinking too much water. Large breeds drink quite a lot of water on a regular basis. If there is a change in the amount of water over a period of time and there seems to be bloating, then call your vet.

If your dog is drinking more than usual for an extended period of time, you should be concerned and have him looked at by a vet.

The symptoms shows that it is diabetic. polyuria(increased urination)and polydipsia(increased drinking)are the signs for diabetic. Make a test with urine sample to evaluate kidney function and urinary tract infection. It will also cause inflammation of the prostate. Look for other symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea or lethargy.
