If it's cold out and the dog was pretty active outside and coming inside to the warmth - and - the runny nose is clear, it's just natural. If this is a constant drainage issue, I would talk to your vet about it. Still, I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

There are liquids available in the pharmacy for the pets for runny nose. It can be given. If you do not have too, you can melt little paracetamol and feed.

You can wipe his nose with cloth moisten with warm water. You can apply a small quantity of petroleum gel on its nose. If the symptoms persists then take him to veterinarian.

If the dog has just a runny nose and no cough or difficulty breathing, waiting it out will be reasonable. With a cough, you should see your vet.
