Question by  alyssag (1)

My doctor gave me antibiotics to treat a sinus infection. I finished the medication, but I still don't feel better.

Should I go back to the doctor or wait to see if I get better?.

Make an appointment with the doctor. You should have felt considerably better after a few days on the meds. You may have some kind of infection that is resistant to that particular medicine, or you may have developed a secondary condition that needs treated. Feel better!

This would depend on the type of antibiotic that you had. If you had a strong dose three to 5 day pack, it will still take another 3 to 4 days to get the full effect of the medication. If you had 7 to 10 days worth of antibiotics, then you should go back to the doctor, it didn't help.

Definitely go back to the doctor if you feel that the antibiotics didn't work. They may have mis-diagnosed you, so it's very important to go see your physician.

You should go back to the doctor and get some prednisone for it so that can open the airways, and more antibiotics also, maybe he or she will give you something to help drain it. You could try using a netti pot also to clean your sinuses out also.
