I would contact the school board, principal and superintendent of your school district. I would do this by writing letters and keeping copies of everything. This is a very serious matter that the school need to take responsibility for. If this fails I would hire an attorney that is familiar with dealing with the school board.

You should have reported it to the police right away and had them come out and write a report. Then you could pick up a copy of the report and take it to the magistrate to press charges.

First, you need to contact the school's principal. Ask for a meeting with the three of you to get all of the story. Find out if the school will be paying for any medical bills that were accrued if it is necessary. Are repercussions given if needed? If repercussions are suitable the end, if not go to the board.

I would sit down with your child, the teacher and the principal, and get down to exactly what happened, and what methods were used to break up the fight.

You can go to the doctor and get the child checked, once you have the proof take them to the principal of the school for further discussion.
