Is there such a thing as braces that don't hurt?

Braces are designed to slowly shift the position of your teeth. The slower the progress, the less likely your teeth and jaw are to hurt. Also, if your teeth do not require much realignment, they are also less likely to hurt. However, it's highly unlikely that any orthodontic device can realign teeth without any pain at all.

All braces involve some pain, because the adjustments move your teeth around. You can minimize the pain with braces that don't have wires, which can break and cut you.

Unfortunately, braces will always initially be somewhat uncomfortable. You may even have some gum sensitivity. However, the good news is that it is only temporary, and should subside with weeks.

Most often braces themselves do not hurt. The pain comes in when braces are tightened. That is because the wires are pulled to close the gaps in your teeth. There are other means such as Invisiline. Ask you Dentist for more info.

In my experience, no. That's not to say that the pain is excruciating, but it can be more uncomfortable if anything. But I also think it depends on the severity of the individual case.

Many people are now using the "Invisalgn" style of bracers. Since these bracers don't adhere or wrap around the actual teeth users experience much less discomfort.
