Beer like a lot of beverages contains calories. If a person consumes more calories then what the burn off it get stored as fat. So it can cause weight gain.

Absolutely, but not so much for what is in beer, but rather, the typical beer drinkers. Barley is certainly something that is heavy for you (and you will gain weight if you drink a lot), but in general as long as you exercise, drinking the occasional beer isn't bad for you, and you won't gain a lot of weight.

Typically beer is not the best thing for you to drink, and can cause weight gain if you drink a lot of beer and do not take part in physical activties known as Beer Belly. If you drink beer and workout you should not have to worry to much about it, its no worse than soda or other drinks.

It's definitely easy to gain weight from drinking beer. It varies by brand, but most beers average between 150-200 calories per 12-ounce can or bottle, unless it is light beer.
