Laptop fans are really similar to desktop computer fans. They all draw power from the computer's power supply. You don't need any driver to operate them.

yes, but it should come preinstalled on your computer. if not, though, you can usually download drivers from the manufacturer's website. you should be very careful when adjusting settings on the fans though, as overheating can be very dangerous and potentially damage your computer. overheating is a very serious problem

No. Fans are controlled by a temperature sensor and turn on and off automatically by computer control. Use compressed air can to get rid of the dust clogging it up.

Yes there certainly is. All laptops come equipped with fans as laptop create a lot of heat and the built in fan helps to keep it from over heating and causing many problems.

No Laptop fans run right off of the motherboard like theier desktop counterparts. All things that are plugged directly into the motherboard are controlled through Bios. To access Bios you must restart your system and hit the delete key when you see the black text startup screen. From there search through the menu until you find the fan controller.

Laptop fans are pure hardware based and should not require any drivers or controls. There are however some software programs that let you monitor the fans speed.
