If you are talking about heraldry or heraldic genograms there are many books available out there. Try visiting a library and ask for the books on heraldry.

"A Family Genogram Workbook" by Israel Galindo not only has genograms, but it also will let you write in the book to develop your own family genogram, and how it effects you as a person. It has a step by step tutorial. It is a good introductory book to the concept.
