The larynx is an organ in the throat over which air passes to create the sounds of the voice. The larynx is very often referred to as the "voice box." There are several websites that illustrate the anatomy and location of the larynx.

Yes your vocal cords that are stretched taunt and produce sound through vibrations of air passing over them are used to make the noises that are called your voice. Sometimes people will refer to this part of your body as your voice box but that is not the proper name for the body part.
