No, I don't believe the day before Thanksgiving is a holiday. Many school districts allow the students and teacher the day off however.

Wouldn't that be great! Unfortunately it is not considered an official holiday although plenty of schools are closed and people are taking off work. It would be great to have the extra day to get al the shopping and preparation done. Maybe we should start lobbying for it to be at least 1/2 a day vacation!

No, the day before Thanksgiving isn't an actual holiday. Many schools and places of work will give the day off for travel, but it is not considered a national holiday.
