If prescribed according to weight and symptoms by a vet, it is safe. However if taken accidentally it is best to get the dog to the vet for precautionary measures.

Small dosages are relatively safe. It would be wise to contact veterinarian if there has been an accidental exposure. Monitor the condition of dog for the next 24 hours. If they show no ill effects within the first hour they will most likely be ok. Even after 24 hours it is wise to seek advice from veterinarian.

If you Vet prescribed it, then it should be safe. However, do not give it to your dog if it was not prescribed, it also depends on dosage.

The only one that could answer that question with authority is a vet any one else would just be guessing and that could spell disaster for you and your dog.
