Is the $2499 Mac Pro powerful enough for pro video editing, is a 512MB GeForceGT 120 video card powerful enough??

The $2499 Quad-Core Mac Pro: 2. 66GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon "Nehalem" processor and NVIDIA GeForceGT 120 with 512 MB. How does this processor compare with an Intel Core i5750 2. 66 ghz

The one advantage of the Xeon processer (over the Core i5), is that you have a more server-based processor, so this will be great for video editing or rendering. The graphics card should provide plenty of power for multiple output displays, and the rendering of 3D content. This should be an a wonderful machine that will last for years.

For the most part, yes. Unless you're looking for some sort of workstation to make pixar movies with, you'll do fine with this configuration.

In my eyes, Macs cannot be beat for video editing. From the Mac lineup, I would say that the Mac Pro is the most powerful, so yes.

Yes it is powerful and you will have no problem with the video card because it has 512 MB. The Quad-Core Mac Pro 2. 66 GHZ Intel Xeon is more powerful than the Intel Core because it has a better cache and its a quad-core.
