Ringing in the ears is not a common side effect of a yellow jacket sting on the upper body. However a sting near the face could result in a ringing in the ears. Also, someone who is allergic to yellow jacket stings, might experience side effects, such as ringing in the ears.

Yellowjackets sting repeatedly causing redness, swelling and pain. Hives, nausea, vomiting chest pain, and body swelling are symptoms of yellow jacket stings. Symptoms usually occur within 15-20 minutes. Ringing in the ear is called tinnitus. Bee venom is used in treating the symptoms of tinnitus in the form of ear drops.

It can be a side effect of yellow jacket venom. The best thing to do is take some benadryl because many of the venom reactions are allergic, then go immediately to a walk-in clinic or emergency room for professional medical care. Even a simple reaction such as ringing in the ears can get worse over time.

Trepidy, I also have this symptom. I was stung multiple times by yellow jackets. I had the normal swelling and itching that corresponds with yellow jacket stings. However, the next day my ears started ringing and haven't stopped. That was two weeks ago. Did you find a solution?
