While your child is too young to test formally, there are some indicators of intelligence you may observe. Is your child active and interested in the world around her? Does he try different ways to accomplish a task? Does she understand your simple requests and respond appropriately? A child who is active, curious and exploring is generally intelligent.

It is very hard to determine if a child under 5 is truely gifted. There are some who believe one is gifted because the child can read, or recite memorized material, but by the time they enter school things slow down and things even out. Nuture your childs interests.

Find a counselor that deals with intelligence in toddlers. Also keep track on what she is good in and does things beyond her age.

Personally, I wouldn't be to concerned if your two year old is smart. There are many goals and standards which two year olds should meet, both socially and "academically. " If they do, you are just fine. It is difficult to estimate intelligence in a two year old, so don't be to concerned about it.

Your 2 year old daughter can be tested by a developmental testing service. Check with your pediatrician for a recommendation.
