Yes, it is very safe for a teenager to ride a Greyhound bus alone. I've been using this method of transportation since I was only eight years old, and I find them to be quite comfortable and safe. I've never had problems with them, and in fact, my 10 year old son will be using them soon as well.

It depends on the route - short hops between big cities are safer, but an older teenager should be fine as long as they're smart about it.

No, their depots are in shady parts of the country and getting off the bus in a strange town is not good. If someone was to meet them at the depot they could call on the cell phone to make sure they are arriving. Otherwise no.

How old is this teeneager? An older, responsible teenager should be capable of riding a greyhound bus alone as long as they are willing to.

I would say it is a risky if they are going long distances. There are a lot of criminals that ride those buses especially in CA greyhound stations. There are creeps everywhere so, be thoughtful with your decision.

It depends on the teenager and how far they're going. Generally it's safe and the driver is there to assist if there's a problem. There are usually rest stops where you could have them phone home to check in if you're very concerned. Ask Greyhound for any restrictions.
