Yes, you can get burned by laser hair removal if it is not done by the right professional. This is far less likely with a trained medical professional handling the procedure, preferably a cosmetic surgeon or a dermatologist. Certainly do not go to a hairdresser and ask yourself why, say, your gynecologist is offering the service.

Yes. Inappropriate handling can cause burns. If you are undergoing light-sensitivity medication, a physician should be consulted before undergoing laser treatment. Some of the medications have probability to interfere with the laser procedure causing the skin to burn, scarring and changes in the skin pigment. Unusual lightening of the skin , improper adjustment of strength of light can cause burns.

It is possible to get burned from laser hair removal. Some people are simply not good candidates for it. Laser hair removal is something that should be done by a board certified dermatologist and not by someone working in a salon or spa.

As long as your skin isn't sensitive and you do it with an authorized specialist, following as well a series of intructions afterwards and before the procedure, it isn't possible.
