It depends on the name which is called. Sexual, racist, or sexist terms can put you in legal trouble. Overall, it is best to keep insults inside.

What is legal and what you can get sued for, are not always the same. If a "name" could be considered libelous or slanderous, then yes, you could get sued. Otherwise, like many things, it depends. The easiest advice to give, don't call anyone names, especially on a social network.
