I would never recommend using a shock collar to train even a large dog. There are other, more animal friendly ways to train a dog. Try any search engine.

No, a shock collar is really not necessary unless you have an extremely unruly dog. Good old fashioned bribery and patience will do just fine.

Yorkies tend to be stubborn dogs and are hard to train but shock collars are simple stimulate the dogs to behavior modification and they are effective. It is one of the best elctronic training systems for difficult dogs. Yorkies tend to bark alot and are not easily trained for using the bathroom, this is a good system for them.

You may have success, but remember that the shocks are painful. Every dog reacts differently to pain, and yours could react badly. Vocal commands are less risky.

The shock collar is a very bad idea for any dog. It doesn't teach the dog that what it's doing is wrong; it only acts as a temporary way to get the dog to shut up. In a dog as small as a yorkie it could cause long term damage. I cannot stress enough what a bad idea this is!

Depending on the size of your Yorkie this may hurt the dog. Dogs smaller than 5 lbs should never be trained with shock collars. They're too small.
