When referring to the 1900s, you could say "nineteen hundreds" or you could rephrase it and say "the early twentieth century" or "the first decade of the twentieth century"

Sometimes,it's depend on your way of using it in a conversation.Unless you understand it.And you know how to use this generation if you said nineteen hundreds it's referring to a cellphone model.
