Is it common for a child that has broken his talus bone?

My son's talus bone is sticking out, I can see it, yet he says it does not hurt.

What happened is probably severe nerve damage, causing your son not to be able to feel the pain of his injury. You still need to take him to the doctor or er to get treated (depending on the severity).

If it does not hurt or cause him difficulty moving there is nothing that should be done. However an X-Ray can be used to see if there is a problem.
