Is it bad to boil your sax mouthpiece?

Do not boil your sax mouthpiece. You can clean it with some warm soapy water, and rinse it thoroughly afterwards. Music stores sell a spray disinfectant safe for plastic.

No. If you feel as if you need to sterilize your saxophone mouthpiece, then by all means boil it. Do not boil the ligature or the reeds, but you can boil the mouthpiece for a short time to sterilize it, or you could soak it in alcohol.

No it is not, but I wouldn't do it for longer than five minutes. The mouthpiece is made of hard rubber. If you boil it for too long it will start to change.

Yes, boiling will damage any mouthpiece in the long term, and in the short term it will cause a lot of modern mouthpieces to deform. If you feel the need for hygiene, use a low temperature system intended for baby feeding bottles.
