No it is legal to carry alcohol from one state to the other. As long as you do not have any open containers of alcohol in the vehicle, you are okay to do so.

This depends on the states that you are traveling to or through. Some states have no regulations on the transportation. However, other states like Utah allow alcohol for personal use only (meaning a small amount). If a larger amount is transported it must be declared at the border and taxed.
