Is having a Diaper Champ in a nursery a necessity?

I want to get it if I will really find it helpful.

You may find it helpful but that is certainly not a necessity especially if you're trying to save money on baby gear. Small bags to tie up the diapers in work just as effective and are cheaper.

It depends on how important keeping odors to a minimum is. A diaper champ will effectively seal off the smell of poopy diapers, which can be a big benefit to the nose!

It's not a necessity (very few things are), but if you think it will come in handy, get it (but it won't make you a better parent!).

Coming from first hand experience its a really big help. Especially is you are busy and you can't take out the trash every time you have a dirty diaper.

Not necessary. Baby poop is surprisingly not stinky when baby only has breastmilk/formula. It's the solid foods, especially meats that make baby poop stinky. By that age, if a diaper bothers you take it to the trash after changing. Plus any diaper holder eventually gets stinky. Been to a daycare?
